I want to set a time and date that I want to remind all event participants of the upcoming event. I also want to add a custom reminder message that is sent to all participants via mail.

There's news for this issue. 
For one, we are planning to implement it and have it in our next release. 
Also, we decided to kill two birds with one stone and combine the feature ideas for automatic event reminders and for contacting event participants. You will be able to do both with the same functionality, that's why I merged both issues together just now.

Rebecca Häußler: I can't definitely say if this will be included in the next release (somewhere about summer 23) or in the one after that (fall/winter 23), but I am pretty confident that it will be this year. We are in the middle of planning out the next release, so I hope to be able to tell you more in a bit. :)

This feature has been requested several times by our users and would save a lot of time (today: CSV export -> manual creation of mailing list).

Thanks to all of you who provided feedback on this topic. We'll start with implementation for this feature in the next few weeks and are optimistic to have it done by the end of this year.

We'll keep you updated on the progress and provide an estimation for the release timeframe soon.

* For individual reminder messages and time
* No need for global configuration
* System administrators should be able to enable / disable reminders generally
