External events

I want to promote external events within my Linchpin intranet in order to make my colleagues aware of events potentially of interest. External events are treated as regular events except instead of the application option the user is being presented with a referrer to the external event page (URL).
Might be useful especially for:
- summits
- trainings
- public events
- webinars

Our users want to have one central overview of all events in linchpin, also those that are for any reason created and managed in another platform (f.ex. from an e-learning portal). To prevent double work for event creators we want to be able to import these external events into linchpin. Best would be an automatic feed via hotfolder or something similar (dragdrop might be an option too). Of course those events would then link to the external destination.

Das kann man aber doch auch über eine entsprechende Kategorie darstellen? So handhaben wir es jedenfalls.

Ute Jordan: True, it's possible to add these external events like any other event and mark them somehow as external.
It would be nice however, in my opinion, to be able to import such external events somehow - might even happen automated via iCal or the likes.

Hey all,
as we have a full calendar of events within our company, we were wondering if there could be an possibility to import an outlook calendar (eg. like Team Calendars) into the linchpin events, so events are automatically generated through the calendar.
This would be a great improvement as we right now have to manually create the events.
