Display news in users profile language
...instead of all languages below each other in the stream. Users should be able to navigate between the languages in detail view. Currently if a news exists in more than one language, all language variants are displayed in the desktop stream as well as in the linchpin app. This makes it hard for intranets with international news in several languages to keep the stream usable. It would be great to have a switch on/off option in the background that enables us to change this behavior so the users by default get the news shown in the language they selected in their linchpin profile. Fallback should be: User language if available - Fallback: EN if user language is not available - OR (if no language has been set) show news that currently has no translations --> this ensures a news is not missed and can be translated at a later stage if required.
Language Overview Additional Info
If one could see last revision comment last revision date for each language version it might be easier to spot out of date language versions It would be even easier if one could skip backward / forward through the revisions or open a pop up with a longer revision list
Merge Likes and Comments for Language Variants
Right now, we publish global news and other content in German and English, linked up with the Language Manager. The German news has likes and comments, and the English version too. It would be great to get the option to have this merged at both language objects: Show likes and comments combined at both content objects. This would mean mixed languages in comments but would still be a big benefit in my point of view. Probably difficult to realize :)
Language linking should be possible for a planned blog post
We create and plan a blog post for two languages. Before the blog post is published, we would like to link the two blog posts.
