Thanks for that one, Rebecca Häußler. Something like that indeed would need implementation on our part. Let's see how this issue does on votes; currently we're working our way down starting at the top voted issues :)

Hey Rebecca Häußler,
there already is one possibility to see a marker on a specific news that a user has not read yet. You can read more about that here: https://info.seibert-media.net/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=67305689
But I'm not sure if that is exactly what you mean. Maybe you can have a look and give a feedback whether you meant something different?

Angela Gaida: Hey Angela,
thank you for your reply.
This is great but as the analytics tool is already incorporated within the confluence data center, we can only use this as an indicator if the news have been viewed yet.
Or is there any other advantage we would gain from installing this feature ?
I am looking forward to your reply and are very thankful for your feedback.

Hey Angela,
to elevate this a bit more, we would wish for a feature like shown in the picture enclosed.
Best regards
Rebecca

Hey Heiko Feisel, thanks for your input :)
What is your idea for that status, what exactly defines a news item als "new"?

Caroline
Hi Angela Gaida. Thanks for your questions. We had the idea for such a feature because we recognized that our colleagues sometimes do not notice that there is a new blog entry on our landing page. So we want this "new" patch be shown on news like for one day when the blog entry is online. Another opportunity could be that the "new" sign only disappears if the user clicks the news and (hopefully) read it :)
Could those explanations help you?

Hey Caroline: we had the same requirement and helped ourselves with a workaround that works with the add-on 'Viewtracker':
By default, unread posts are marked with a small purple circle in the top right corner of the cover story object.
With the help of an adjustment in the Linchpin Theme Configuration - Custom CSS we inserted a graphic (jpg, see screenshot) instead of the purple dot.
Maybe this is a solution for you too?
