One of the key demands we have since using the Linchpin App is to enable surveys and simple forms which are accessible via app. Internally we are currently using ConfiForms and Multivote for gathering many different purposes, Corona cases, feedback, orders, ideas, polls etc. In order to reach all our users with this, we would need to have a possibility to show and manage forms / Surveys via app as well.

Idea behind this is to give page editors an exact preview of how a page (or news article) will look on mobile so they can make adjustments in the case where important information is missing or not rendered properly. Also all macros available on mobile are rendered while unsupported macros show as a placeholder in the preview.

Videos are becoming more and more important in internal communication. It would be good if you could embed videos in Confluence and output them optimized for different devices. While a high resolution is desired in the LAN, such a high resolution is not needed on mobile devices. It would be nice if the video resolution and data rate of the video is reduced depending on the resolution of the end device and the mobile reception. For this a mechanism is needed to convert the videos and embed them in Confluence. Due to the potential size of the videos, attachments in Confluence would probably not be the best choice. Maybe MPEG-DASH or HLS would be possible technologies. This could provide a video on a web server in different resolutions. The player then dynamically switches between the different resolutions. However, the support of the end devices is problematic here. Additional JavaScript-Video-players may be required. For reasons of data protection and confidentiality, the video should not be hosted by a public video hoster.

Integrate Confluence's notifications into Linchpin Mobile in order to get real-time updates on anything important. By having this information available on mobile, employees can react to specific events even faster and won't miss any news.

Use case: You get an email notification from Confluence that something has changed on a page you watch. You tap the link in the email and get redirected to Linchpin Mobile app which then automatically presents you with the exact page you just got the notification for.

Edit news subscriptions for the personal news feed. Especially useful feature for employees without access to a desktop computer / Confluence web.
