Add personal spaces to menu
When using personal spaces for people, it would be handy to have those accessible via the navigation. As an admin, you would put a placeholder into the menu structure. When viewing the menu, the placeholder is replaced by the correct link depending on the logged in user. So as a user, when looking at the menu, you'd see the link to your own personal space.
Menu editor: improve UX
- hovering on any field (title/link/icon) should highlight field to show it can be edited directly - clicking on the title of a category or menu should switch the line to edit mode - clicking on the link of a menu should switch the line to edit mode - click and hold line should trigger drag and drop (anywhere not on a field) - cursor should be changed to move cursor when mouse on a line but not on a field - ability to add not only a sub item but a sibling item (so users don't have to scroll to the top menu to add a sibling item) - a small tab before sub items would give a better overview of the hierarchy - ability to reduce/expand parents (+show number of children items) - Preview does not work (all white) - Publishing menu should bring the user back to the Menu Structure page and not the menu settings. - When deleting item, alert box should be in the middle of the page and should not mention children items if there are no children items - When adding a menu item without link the item does not show. Looks like a bug, really. Please show items even if they have no link!
Switch from category to menu and vice versa
A simple function to switch/migrate between menu category and menu link.
Create menu entries automatically via space categories
You would create a special menu entry, and its children would be automatically added and include all spaces that are assigned a certain space category.
Improve design and UX
- nicer cleaner, more modern design - More icons - ability to upload own icons - drag and drop on the left or full tile (and remove horrible arrows!) - add slight tabulation for sub and subsub elements, so the hierarchy is more visible and don't depend on a colour scale. This will also help with the drag and drop to show which level you are moving the element to - Submenu layout is very unfriendly, could be improved - more than one possible layout for menus and submenu elements - info button near each element (what is a category, what is a menu item) - link placeholder text should be "input your link or start typing to search confluence" - not sure why ID is visible, this is not primary info: should go to the far right or visible only on edit - Links get changed into pageId instead of title: less friendly and makes possible mistakes invisible. Would be nice to have the link with space and page name if there is.
auto fill page title
Page title is visible but not filled in, so you have to manually type the entire title for every page you reference in the menu editor.
Change colour or add link on subcategory item
It would be nice if we could change the colour of the subcategory items (at the moment it is blue) and/or if we could add a link to the subcategories.
Event log: who changed what when?
If there are several menu editors, an editor might want to know who deleted that important menu entry that was there only yesterday but is now gone.
