Use column and section macros on dashboard

Since quite some time column and section macros do not properly work on the Confluence dashboard. Since these are important tools to style content, I would like the Linchpin Theme to address this and make the macros work.

Thanks for the information! I understand your point.
Actually, it has major effects for us. We invested a lot of time to optimise our dashboard and now we are at the beginning again. Right now we cannot update (although we should due to an security incident) because we have no plan B on how to design the dashboard without eliminating content there.
Concerning the change I am very excited :) I already tested the news magazine and I think the idea is good but there are way less options to organise the content than now with columns etc. so maybe it wouldn't be obsolete by then.

There's two aspects to this issue, that lie in part outside our development team, therefore I'm a bit hesitant in putting it on the roadmap:
- It's a bug in Confluence itself. By implementing something into the Linchpin Theme, we could possibly make it work; but I'd rather add functionality that's not part of Confluence at all via an app, than fixing Confluence's bugs with a workaround.
- In the future, we want to completely change the way dashboards are built. The news magazines have been a first step into this direction; something very similar might be the future way of building dashboards. This would make the whole thing obsolete.
In any case, it would be helpful to know what users / customers think about it :)
