Add contacts from other sources like SAP / telephone system via csv
Dennis G
We would like to use LUP to replace our "company telephone book", in this telephone book are many functional contacts which will never be users like "meeting room xy", "workshop xy" and external contacts from other companys. It would be great if such "contacts" which are no "users" could be imported via csv or xml and mapped to the corresponding columns

We heard this idea from other customers as well, Dennis G.
In your imagination, would those entries be in one big list together with all the others, who are actual Confluence users?
Or how about this instead: you open the people directory, and on the left hand side you have entries like "Meeting rooms". You click on that, and it opens a list of these "contacts" you imported before. Would that be sufficient?
I'm asking because an integration with all the Confluence Users is ... maybe not impossible, but very close to it. A separate list, but accessible at the same place where the users are, would be much easier to implement.
I don't think we'd tackle it in the near future, but I'd like to understand the needs better.

Angela Gaida: one big list, i understand that you can`t use the user table but it would be possible to create a seperate table and join the two with an union select...Maybe there are more solutions.

Dennis G: okay, thanks for clarifying :)
