Excerpt Macro in Confluence

Dear Confluence Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to propose an enhancement to the Excerpt Macro functionality in Confluence that I believe would greatly benefit users and improve content management within the platform.
Currently, the Excerpt Macro allows users to embed a portion of content from one page into another. However, it is limited to embedding only one excerpt per source page. This limitation poses a challenge for users who wish to manage and embed multiple excerpts from a single source page into various target pages.
To address this limitation, I suggest introducing the ability to assign unique names to each Excerpt Macro. By allowing users to name their excerpts, it would become possible to embed multiple excerpts from a single source page into different target pages. This would streamline content management by enabling users to maintain all relevant excerpts in one central location, which can then be selectively embedded across multiple pages as needed.
Best regards,

There is an addon providing this functionality: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/169/multiexcerpt?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

What a great suggestion! I’ve wondered about this constraint many times. But never thought about addressing it…
