Maximize the initial depth of the structured org chart
Angela Gaida
Hey Anna Christina Schildberg,
thanks for that suggestion. I'm curious: how many levels would your customer like to show, and about how many people in how many nodes would that chart show?
The reason we limited the depth to 5 was for performance reasons, but maybe we should rethink that, if there's a lot of demand for more layers to be initially shown.

Angela Gaida: Hi Angela,
as my customer wants to get levels inbetween for "Management", "Secretariats" and "Employees", he gets a lot of levels.
Example for only one department:
Box: Department "Marketing"
Box: Management
Person(s): Max Meier
Box: Secretariats
Person(n): Mia Muster
Martin Müller
Box: Employees
Person(n): Karl Schmidt
....
And this department is under "Communication", which has the same structure itself and so on.
So my customer has roundabout 20 layers.
The number of people is 2.400.
But I guess, this a very special way to design it ;-)

Anna Christina Schildberg: I see, thanks for the explanation :)
I'm pretty sure your customer wouldn't love the performance if we simply allowed unlimited users initially visible; we'd have to ensure somehow that load times still are somewhat reasonable.
I'll run it by the dev team for a quick first glance and to give their opinion if this would be at all feasible. Because, even if it's still running okay in your customer's system, if we allow all users to be initially visible and in another company they decide to initially show all 50k people ... well, let's say, I don't want to be responsible for systems dying because of that ;)
