Option to Change / Hide the "User" Field

When I get my Customized User list it returns a "User" column that I cannot move, remove or change the name of. It would be great to be able to rename this in the table view (understand the field is Confluence-driven) as people in our organisation don't like being referred to as "Users".
Similarly, it would be even better if I could just pull in all fields (including the picture) by selecting which ones I want to see and the order they appear in (e.g. Photo first, then User but called "Name" (e.g.))

It would be great if we could hide the field, as it is not very useful at all to sort the entries by "forename surname", which is the default displayName in Confluence.
Of course we could change that to "surname, forename" in Confluence, but that would also mean that the profile and mentions would use that pattern, which is not what we want.
In a sorted list however things are different. We added a new field in LUP and map "cn" from ldap to it, which results in "surname, forename" for sorting the list and then it would be great if the unneeded default user column could be hidden.

Hi Thomas Bowskill,
that is a really nice suggestion. I like the idea to make this more flexible and less technical.
