Would be great if there's a possibility to export/download the organization chart..

This macro is now available with Linchpin User Profiles version 2.25 that has been released to the Atlassian Marketplace. It will also be part of the upcoming Versions of Linchpin Suite 4.0 and Linchpin Essentials 1.4; we are working on these releases at the moment and they should be available soon.

That sounds good! Thank you!

The original estimate of us working on it in March didn't quite work out, as you may have noticed. But now, we are actually working on it. Yay :)
Biggest hurdle at the moment is to make sure it will show up nicely on pages in the Linchpin Mobile App as well, but our developers have ideas how to handle this.

Angela Gaida: Amazing news!

Hi Angela Gaida, do we have an estimate time for releasing this nice feature?
Thanks
Angela Gaida
JSD Atisome: It will be part of the upcoming release for Linchpin User Profiles (version 2.25), and I assume a release date in roundabout three weeks from now. It will also be part of Linchpin Essentials and Linchpin Suite (not sure if the Suite will be a 3.5 or a 4.0), and that is expected a short time after, so probably first half of November. Of course, these are just rough estimates and it can change if we encounter major difficulties on the way.
But for the macro itself, that's pretty much done, so there's no risk of it being left out of the release :)
JSD Atisome
Angela Gaida: Thanks for the update. Much appreciated

Angela Gaida: Any chance we can get some sort of preview on how the macro will work / what it will look like? We have some internal projects that involve needing to display org charts on Confluence pages, so I'd love to see if we can confirm the macro will solve our specific needs and avoid doubling our internal efforts if so.
Angela Gaida
Ciaira Castorena: It was shown during the last Linchpin Review; you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/is94xKb0V6c?t=850. It's in German language, but you'll be able to have a glimpse of what it looks like and how it works.

Angela Gaida: This was exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Org Chart Macro

Stefan Jenni
The Org Chart Macro should be available on any Confluence page. The organization structure (name of departements with manager or without a manager) should be visible in a hierachy. This information comes from SAP or an HR System.
All boxes in the chart should have the same size. Peoples Information: name, job description, phone number should be visible in the box with a photo. The Content of the box should be customizable. User Information comes vom AD or HR system.

Angela Gaida: I just saw that you released a new version but without the org chart.
Does this mean that it will not come before April?
Christina Wotschel
Kevin Jascur: You are right. This feature did not come with the new version. As Angela said we started developing this feature right now. I can't give you an ETA now but we will keep you updated :)

Christina Wotschel: any updates?

We are currently working on a concept to step by step close and improve current gaps in our product reading Org Charts. You can take a look at first layouts here: https://linchpin.canny.io/admin/board/linchpin-user-profiles/p/better-org-charts-for-linchpin

This would be loved in my organization
Janne Jaula
That would be super useful.

Could be dynamically constructed, like the first two levels above and below a defined user or the current user.
Janne Jaula
Has to be configurable and dynamically constructed or it has no benefit over copy pasting this from visio (that can generate this from AD) or power point.
-Define where to start generating
-Optional: how many levels below are drawn
-Optional: show superior and colleagues under same superior (this would be useful if you could dynamically refer to current user as "root" for generation of org chart)
-Optional: Define what data fields are shown in org chart
-Optional (nice to have): define layout and look & feel options for how the chart is drawn.
