More informations in not-found-message of user search

Many of our users don't enter the complete surname when searching vor user profiles. As a result they ofen get an error message, that the user was not found (see picture).
It make sense and we are really thankful that this message already includes information about the fields, which are searched. Very nice feature :)
Would be even nicer, if there would be an additional tipp or hint to end the search input with '*', when the name is NOT entered completely (which in effect will cause a contained-in-search).

Hey Michael Kniel,
thanks a lot for your suggestion.
I am assuming that in this case you used the people search in the Linchpin Sidebar, is that correct?
Or if not that, then you used a Custom User Search macro on a page, which basically is the same thing.
These are deprecated and will be replaced by the new People Search & List macro at some point in the future. We didn't switch out the search box in the Linchpin Sidebar yet, because we wanted to wait for feedback on the new macro before making that change.
So my suggestion is: please have a look at the new macro. Or the people directory which has the same search behavior as the new macro. There, you will find the correct entry, even if you enter only part of the name like in your example. And please let me know: will that behavior be okay for you? And, in case it's not, what would you expect from it?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Angela Gaida

Hey Angela Gaida,
thank You for Your hints and these informations.
I guess your new search functions will fit our wishes and expectations. It will be an improvement not to enter the '*' and getting results.
I'm curious about the People Search & List macro and will test it's behaviour soon.
Thank You and have a nice week
