More Protocols in Instant Messenger field
under review
Stefan Glase
Aside of XMPP and Skype we would like to see protocols like Mattermost to be supported.
The Mattermost format to send a direct message to a user with the username fred looks like this:
mattermost://subdomain.company.net/team/messages/@fred
Currently neither the XMPP nor the Skype option allows us to create this type of URL for the instant messenger field.

We do have already: https://info.seibert-media.net/display/DOC/Share+Linchpin+news+via+MS+Teams & https://info.seibert-media.net/display/DOC/Start+chats+in+MS+Teams

As of version 5.2 of Linchpin Suite and 2.2 of Linchpin Essentials, integration for MS Teams for the instant messenger field is now supported.

Messanger Function
Joachim Suter
Currently I find it a big disadvantage compared to other systems like Beekeeper or Staffbase that there is no integrated chat or communication possibility like Whatsapp/Treema.
This could be a mobile only solution, detached from the Confluence, just available in the app as a messanger.
Function: Chat in groups (text and images), chat 1:1 in a confidential context. Chat history. Design does not have to be reinvented - just use standards.

A quick update on this one: We are currently planning to implement an integration for MS Teams so you can see a person's Teams status in Linchpin and also start a 1:1 conversation.

Teams Presence for IM

Microsoft is retiring Skype for Business in favor of Teams. All SfB customers will be migrating over the next 2 years. It seems that adding Teams integration for Presence would be essential to prevent existing customer (like me) from losing functionality when they (we) migrate to Teams (which we already have).

Integration for Cisco Jabber would be also good https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/11_5/CJAB_BK_D00D8CBD_00_deployment-installation-guide-cisco-jabber115/CJAB_BK_D00D8CBD_00_deployment-installation-guide-cisco-jabber115_chapter_010011.pdf
XMPP is already there, but does not work properly with Cisco Jabber, because the XMPP URL is not correct, because the "fieldname" is part of the url its not working..
xmpp:Cisco Jabber (XYZ@xxxx.de)?message does not work
xmpp:XYZ@xxxx.de?message works fine
CISCOTEL and TEL should be added
