Silent profile editing

As an admin I wish I could globally turn on or off notification of profile changes. Or at least set it as a hidden feature to enable/disable silent editing.

It would be great, if it would be possible to change the Linchpin User Profile (LUP) via the Rest API without the changed user being informed via a notification.
