A customer told me: additionally it would be useful to be able to grant this permission on a space basis, so the event creation permission is not just "on" or "off". Instead, you can be granted permission to create Events that are then restricted to certain spaces. The idea is to allow events to be created for all sorts of things, but not every event should "spam" the event overview on a dashboard.

Linchpin administrators should be able to restrict event creation to only certain user groups. Currently, everyone who can login to Confluence can create events. This could be externals with only restricted access to certain Spaces. However, they are able to create events visible to everyone.

Hi all, agreed, the possibility to restrict event creation permission to users and/or groups would bring a high value!

We have a very strong need & interest in this feature. Our Culture and Communications teams want to have nearly exclusive ownership over events to prevent confusion and clutter in our very active intranet; I have requests from senior leaders and above to gain this ability. We'd be interested in supporting development if possible.

Grant / revoke the permission to create events to a group would be as useful as individualy. Adding a user to the group grants the permission.
