Event colors

Hello, I see that this was requested 2 years ago but I can't see any possible colours. My question is would it be possible to assign colours based on labels rather than categories?
Categories are only managed by our parent company and we can't add any.
I'm planning to create a training calendar for our staff with different types of modules (compulsory training, technical, products, etc.). Thanks to linchpin events, they could sign up for the sessions that are stressing them out. I was thinking of adding labels for each type of module so that they could be easily retrieved from the calendar or in list view. To make it easier to read, colours would be welcome. Do you think this would be possible?
Thank you

Hey Alexa ADAM,
thanks for reaching out.
We didn't build it as a configurational option, but we implemented CSS classes so you can customize the event cards completely to your liking.
We originally built this for Event Categories, but it works exactly the same for Event Labels. See the documentation here please: https://info.seibert.group/display/DOC/Custom+CSS+for+color+coding+the+event+category.

This feature has been completed and will be available with Linchpin Suite 5.6 / Linchpin Events 3.10, both scheduled for late March 2023.

We are planning to implement this the same way we did for the news tiles: if an event has one or more categories assigned, it will be marked with a unique CSS class. That way, an admin can create custom CSS for all the places where events are shown (Event Hub, the various macros) and implement the visual marking any way they want: colors, icons, etc.
If all goes to plan, it will be available with Linchpin Suite 5.6 / Linchpin Events 3.10, both scheduled for late March 2023.

Our customer also would like to have such a feature.

Enrico Skottnik: could you please elaborate on this a little bit? On which factors would your customer want that color to be set? Should the event creator be able to set them manually? Or would it depend on the event category?
Of course, if anyone else of the voters for this issue wants to chime in with their view, please feel free to do so!

Angela Gaida: It would be great if it would be possible to set a color for each category. At the moment we have a lot of categories in our project therefore the calendar view is often needed but quite hard to read . hope that helps

Maria: thanks for your opinion :) That's what I was thinking too, tying the color to the category.

Angela Gaida Different event categories should be given different colours. This makes it easier to distinguish between all events in the calendar and list view right away. Hope this helps to understand the need.

Yes it does, Enrico Skottnik thank you very much :)
