Links (for google maps) in Event Location
Roman Braunstingl
The Location Text field in the event descriptions should render URLs as clickable links, so that one can enter a Google Maps link and Users can navigate to it.
Ideal would be if Google Maps links are parsed further so that they display the Name of the Location and the users can click on it.

Add (Google) maps-link to location details

As a user i want to have a link to (Google) maps, when clicking on the onsite location details.

Hi Angela,
If the app would recognise the location automatically that would be perfect.
E.g. creating a link like this from the location text entry: https://www.google.com/maps/search/Beispiel+Strasse+101,+10000+Beispielstadt or something similar.
The maps service could be defined (Google, OSM, etc.) and enabled by confluence admins.
If this is not possible, i'd go for a field to place a link. As it's more flexible and less work for admins.

Miro Meier: Cool, thanks for clarifying :)

Hey Miro Meier,
thanks for your suggestion.
I'd like to know a bit more about this idea. Do you envision the users inputting the link? Or rather, all the possible locations are in a select field, and an admin configures a maps link for each of the locations, so the user just selects their location? I'd guess it's the latter, am I right?

This would also be nice in Order to set an Online Location (Teams, Hangouts, ...) Link for the event.

Roman Braunstingl That's a cool idea, I really like it. Might need to double-check for privacy here when using Google Maps but shouldn't be a showstopper. Looking forward to further feedback from other users :-)
