Get user-picked language

Maybe add the user-picked language to the API or make it accessable through velocity

Hey MB,

thanks for your suggestion. I'm curious though, what would you like to do with that? Do you have a specific use case in mind?

Angela Gaida: Well inside of our intranet we have some macros. The concern was raised that the language of the macro should fit the rest of the side for the user. I hope you understand what I mean.

MB: Ah, that's interesting. So if I understand correctly, you'd like to be able to detect the assigned language of a page and then adjust the embedded macros according to that?

Angela Gaida: Well that would also be great. But no the idea is towards the language the user can set inside the settings.

MB: I'm still not sure I understand your thoughts here completely. The language that a user sets in their settings is something Confluence provides, it's not a Linchpin feature.

I don't see in what capacity our app "Language Manager" is involved in your use case?

Angela Gaida: To be frank I haven't found a way to retrive that information on any way. But the idea of being able do use the page language inside a macro would be really great.
