Allowing reviewer to save changes after rejecting news

Patrick Albrecht
We love the new reviewer workflow where the reviewer can reject a news but our use case is not supported yet:
* Our reviewer are also fixing some typos, adding comments etc. for the original author before rejecting the news.
They therefore want to save some changes to the blog post and then reject it (or the other way around, doesn't matter to us). The original author should then work on the blog post again and request an approval.

Thanks Angela Gaida, I think that's the workaround our editors also found :)

After having a closer look at this, I'm opening this issue again.
It's somewhat a mix of feature request and bug :)
First things first: it does work somewhat. If the reviewer makes changes and then rejects, those changes don't show up in the news item if you just look at it in view mode. But if the author then goes into edit mode, those changes are there, and upon next submitting for review, they will be saved properly. This only applies to contents in the news itself though, not to changes that have been made by the reviewer in the "additional information" section.
At least it worked that way in our tests.
Of course, that's not really great.
To change this is not a simple bugfix though, it needs some changes to the way the software handles rejections, and that's not super easily done. Therefore I'll treat this issue like a feature request. But, as saving the changes made by the reviewer is somewhat the expected behavior, we'll try and tackle it soon. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Patrick Albrecht,
oh, interesting, I didn't know about that. I'll double check and get back to you when I know more.

Hi Angela Gaida,
Thanks for replying to my request, though this seems not to be the case right now. I'll opened a support request (https://jira.apps.seibert-media.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/13/HELP-3262) before opening this feature request. Could you please check this and let me know if this is a feature request or a bug?
Regards,
Patrick

Hey Patrick Albrecht,
thanks for reaching out to us. This should already be the case. All changes to the content of the news should be saved by default when the reviewer clicks on "reject".
Please have a closer look if that happens. If not, then there seems to be something off. In that case please open a support issue via seibert.biz/help. Thanks :)
