Create your own Cover Stories layout
Marc Hornschuh
We have similar requests, see the small graphic attached:
- Tile area (green) with 2 large and 8 small tiles
- Unlike cover stories, there is no option for slides
- Unlike cover stories, the news subscriptions can be specified as the source
- Text area with 10 lines, for example, and the option to move the list down (to the older entries)
- News items run from the top left through the tiles into the text list
- No news item is displayed twice
- Sequence can only be overwritten with ‘sticky’
The advantages:
- Integration of news subscriptions in the central news stream of the company dashboard
- This means only one individual news stream
- More tiles in the central news stream
- No duplications
- Easier for users to use

We currently have a 2 by 2 grid of cover stories in one column and a news list in the next column. I have excluded the cover story items in the news list with a css hack to prevent them from appearing twice. Ideally these macro's work well together.

Michiel Groeneveld: That's a very interesting hack, thanks for sharing!

I would love to have this too. I would have vertical layout having eg. only one row with 4 tiles

We would also think that some more layout options would be necessary. Our customer specifically requested an option with 2 tiles in the top row and 3 at the bottom, an external UI consultant made a mockup, which I'll attach.

Thanks for your detailed input here!
We appreciate your feedback.
We will think about this feature and I will let you know when we have updates :)

It would be great to be able to define the number of rows and columns of one cover story macro.
And like the other comment shows, it would be even better to define different numbers of tiles for each row.
