When using images from other pages, also use their alt text automatically

For a while now, news teaser images can be chosen from other Confluence pages instead of being uploaded again every time. While this is useful, the corresponding alt text has to be transferred manually. It would be helpful for authors, if the alt text from the original image could be transferred automatically when the image is selected as news teaser image.

I had to close this one, sadly. We looked into it, but at the moment there is no way to reliably and consistently re-use the alt text, since Confluence doesn't store it in a way we can access it very well.
Maybe, if something changes in the future, we will be able to come back to this request, but for the time being it's not possible.

I'm putting this back to "Open" status for the time being. We looked into it, but currently there is no way to reliably extract an image's alt text to pre-populate it when using it as a news or event image.
However, I am not closing the issue yet, as it is possible that future changes to Confluence will make this possible.
If there is a lot of demand for this feature, we could also consider an alternative solution, but that would require a lot more development effort and would not be in an acceptable cost/benefit ratio with the current state of the votes.
