Profile based Onboarding
Angela Gaida
Thanks for this idea, Joachim Suter.
Do I understand that correctly that there's a field in your AD that contains the information about the company, and this field is mirrored in the Linchpin User Profiles and synched to the AD?
Because that would be a prerequisite for showing the correct onboarding for each user. It would have to be 100% certain that this information exists, before the user can start on their onboarding.
Still we would have to consider something going wrong for whatever unknown or unlikely reason: a user logs in for the first time, but the important information on which the onboarding hinges isn't there. What would you expect the system to do in this case? Postpone the onboarding process? Let the user fill out the information and then hop into the correct onboarding? Something else?
Joachim Suter
Hi Angela Gaida Yes that's correct. We fill the AD from the ERP-System. If the Value is missing, the best is if u can select by your self and go ahead with this Path. Or just a message - "call your admin" :-). If I don't have this Information I get also an empty dashboard.

Joachim Suter: I see, thanks for that :)
I would like to know from other customers / partners: Would you want to have different onboarding experiences for different people in one system, would that be a useful thing for you, too?
Frederik Rentrop
Angela Gaida: Absolutely! We are running five brands of one group on one system, and various onboarding settings would be desirable.
Olaf Stehr
Angela Gaida: Absolutely!
We have local subsidiaries each country and for some of them additional profile information is required. would be great if this could be considered during the onboarding.
i could even imagine that some departments within one legal entity would be interested to manage specific profile fields (e.g. if user works in software development, we could ask for programming languages and technologies - which is nor relevant for users working in HR for example)
Joachim Suter
Olaf Stehr: good point!
