As a content manager on Confluence, I'd like to be able to provide users with a quick overview of new microblog activity, so that they can dig deeper where they are interested without going into email.
Background:
Currently the only way to receive microblog summaries is via email. We're trying very hard to rely less on email updates, as the amount you receive from Jira and Confluence can be overwhelming, and instead work directly in the systems.
We've tried numerous arrangements of the homepage, but no matter how we try we can't seem to find a good balance between news and microblogs. When we include both, the amount of information is just too overwhelming.
What we would really benefit from is a compact microblog summary view which shows just the number of new posts and new replies within a topic. From there, users could select a specific topic to see all posts there, instead of being overwhelmed with posts from the beginning.
There are probably lots of other ways to do summaries, or use the microblogs in general, so curious if this is something other companies would also benefit from.
