View tracking for Microblogs

As a microblog poster, I want to be able to see how many people have viewed my post, so that I can use this information to inform my decisions.
As a Confluence administrator, I want to be able to see how many people are viewing various posts, so that we can gain insight into where further research is needed regarding feature usage and information sharing.

This would be a very interesting thing for us as well. I am just not to sure about how to count the views. In our case we have the microblog timeline on the dashboard and also on some pages (with filters). In many cases, microblog posts are just read (viewed) by scrolling the timeline. We have limited the height of posts so that sometimes you need to clicjk on "more" to see wthe whole story, but sometimes you also do not need to interact in order to read a full post. How is your approach here, Misha Thornburgh

Jan Priebe: unfortunately we've more recently put the microblogs on the backburner, as we've had a very hard time getting them to catch on with our users without some kind of summary view. We now just have a giant link on the home page to "View all microblogs" because people weren't scrolling down when we had them there. We also have them on some subpages with topics, but I don't think they get any traffic from those subpages, so it would be extra interesting to see that count, but I imagine it would be difficult to gather.
We are actually considering phasing microblogs out completely, as we've found our Mattermost channels serve the purpose we'd hoped these would serve better.
